From a Run-Down Shoe Factory to a Historic Music Hub
Constructed in the 1930s, The Rock Box building was originally a shoe factory on San Antonio’s Eastside, an area once known more for old warehouses than nightlife. When our founder discovered the historic building slated for demolition, they saw opportunity, where others saw decay.
What started as 210 Kapones, a humble bar with live music, soon evolved into a thriving venue fueled by grit, passion, and community — and was aptly renamed The Rock Box. This lively venue helped spark new life into this historic part of town as it grew into San Antonio’s largest independently owned music venue.
Over the years, The Rock Box has welcomed artists ranging from The Scorpions and Volbeat to DaBaby and 21 Savage. Today, it stands as a testament to resilience, creativity, and the power of live music.
